The one and only Ivan by Katherine Applegate is a novel about hope and friendship,starting Ivan,who is also the narrator,a silverback gorilla and Ruby,a baby elephant.Other main characters are Stella and Bob,an older elephant and a dog.
They are all part of a circus,living in cages,and after Stella dies,Ivan wants to save Ruby from the same fate.He makes a plan and with the help of his friends he succeeds to give her a better life.
